Primulina/Chirita Aiko (Toshijiro Okuto). The flowers are bright yellow, large, simple, bell-shaped, decorated in the wide-open throat contrasting orange-red spots and more intense bright yellow color. On the outside of the tube may be bright pink stripes. The leaves are dark green, large, fleshy, hairy, elongated, pointed, raised. Rosette compact, smooth, dense, over which rise on thin stalks blooming bell. One of the best hybrids. C. 'Aiko' is a hybrid of C. eburnea and C. subrhomboidea. Note the presence of small bracts below the flowers on the flower stalks. These are remnants of the much more prominent bracts on the yellow flowered form of C. eburnea. A larger close-up of the flowers nicely illustrates the beauty of this fine hybrid.
